<p>The flow rate of a liq. stream is gravimetrically measured by dividing the stream into main and auxiliary flows, with the main flow then taken through means for measuring its vol. flow rate. At the same time the specific gravity of the auxiliary flow is determined, this flow is returned to the main flow, and the total flow rate is calculated by multiplying the total volume by the specific gravity. Also claimed is the appts. where the measured data are converted into electrical signals supplied to a calculator and an electronic evaluator for converting the signals into wt. units. The two streams of liq. are tested in identical conditions of temp. etc., which reduces possible errors. The appts. is simple, and readily monitored and serviced.</p> |
