<p>The appts. is for setting up and firmly holding pieces of timber conveyed in succession to a woodworking machine, such as framesaw. One or more carriages or other devices (1), for setting up and holding, move in a circulating direction in front of the machine, conveying pieces of timber to it singly or together. The movement can involve a rail guideway (2) permitting an individual carriage, with wood clamped at its end, to traVel to a position directly in front of the machine; after unclamping it is thrust (3) sideways, upwards or downwards to the return rails (4), conveyed to the rear and then thrust (5) against into the feed rails. This ensures that trunks are held firmly in position until the frame saw is reached.</p> |
