In this spray nozzle (10), media such as oil of different viscosity, lubricating grease or even, for example, paint are sprayed through an outlet channel with the aid of compressed air. In order to disperse the medium in a fine form uniformly in a spray cone, i.e. in order to achieve a high degree of uniformity and extreme edge definition of the spray pattern whilst avoiding uncontrolled mist effects, an insert (29) with a channel system which is constructed at the circumference in a helical shape is arranged in the outlet channel (28) in the flow direction directly upstream of the nozzle tip (24). The insert (29) can be the twisting element of a twist drill. <IMAGE>
