PURPOSE:To obtain a high-quality bead core by employing a bead manufacturing device, simple in constitution and inexpensive in cost, by a method wherein the overlapping angle phi of a strand bead is regulated to the optimum value in accordance with the diameter of the bead core, the number of reeling stages of the strand bead and the like. CONSTITUTION:A bead former 12 is rotated into the direction of an arrow sign A in a drawing to wind a strand bead 11 around the outer peripheral surface of the bead former. Before finishing the winding of a final stage or when a chucking part 13 is located before the home position thereof by an angle theta, the bead former 12 is stopped. By changing the angle theta, the length of the overlapped strand bead may be regulated arbitrarily. Next, a cutter 15 is driven to cut the strand bead 11 and the bead former is rotated into the direction, shown by the arrow sign A, to wind it under a condition that a pushing roller 14 is abutted against the bead former 12. The overlapping angle of the strand bead 11 is shown by the notation phi.
