PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material giving a latent imge undergoing less change with the passage of time by forming an emulsion layer contg. a silver halide emulsion prepared by adding an ammoniac aqueous soln. of silver nitrate and an aqueous soln. of acidic halide to a hydrophilic colloidal soln. at the same time and a layer contg. an antioxidant. CONSTITUTION:When a photographic sensitive material having a silver halide emulsion layer contg. cyanine dye is manufactured, the silver halide emulsion of the emulsion layer is prepared by adding an ammoniac aqueous soln. of silver nitrate and an aqueous soln. of acidic halide or an aqueous soln. of halide such as potassium chloride or potassium bromide and an acidic soln. such as an acetic acid soln. to an aqueous soln. contg. hydrophilic colloid such as gelatin at the same time. An antioxidant such as the compound of formula I or II is then added to a layer formed on the support of the sensitive material at the emulsion layer side to obtain the desired photographic sensitive material.
