<p>The curvature of the unglassed slide (3) in the projection beam is monitored by the two ranging beams (6,9) directed at different parts of the slide and with the signals compared by a logic circuit (11). The feedback control moves the objective setting to compensate for the curvature and ensure that all parts of the slide are projected in focus. The two beams are set with one beam in the centre and the other on one edge. The objective is automatically adjusted to produce barrel- or pincushion distortion with the amount of distortion compensating for the curvature of the heated slide.</p> |
