Customary underfloor trunking is set beneath the surface of the floor and consequently requires supporting pieces in the trunking cover to allow electrical cables to be fed from or into the trunking from external equipment. These supports are fixed to openings spaced at regular intervals in the cover, and are usually threaded, to allow the outlet to be fixed to them. The suggested support openings can be stamped out as a circular shape (5) with three or four small cut-outs (13) in the periphery, spaced at 120 degrees or 90 degrees, to one another, respectively. The support itself (6) is formed as a sleeve, containing slits (8) into which tongues (10) on a fixing ring (9) can be inserted. The support (6) with fixing ring (9) is then pushed into the support cut-out (5), with the locking ring tongues (10) aligned with the edge cut-outs (13). The unit is turned so that the tongues (10) lock the support collar (6) in position, enabling the unit to be assembled in situ.
|
