A spit (1, Fig. 1) for carrying a meat product, particularly chicken, during the roasting and/or grilling thereof in an oven is suspended vertically on a conveying chain (3) of horizontal movement direction for transporting the spit through the oven (13), and is rotatable in that it carries on its upper end a circular disc (5), which during the movement of the spit rolls off against a horizontal bar (6), and the spit at its upper end carries an insulating body (7) with two annular current collectors (8, 9) in contact each with a current rail (10, 11) on a horizontal carrying strip (12). |
