A freight pallet, especially a disposable pallet, of the type exhibiting at least two, preferably three, mutually parallel ribs on the underside thereof, the ribs elevating the load-supporting upper surface of the pallet high enough above the foundation on which it rests to provide room for the fork of a fork lift. The pallet is formed of a flat plate (1) of a lightweight, rigid material which is reinforced on both sides with a high tensile strength, flexible foil (3, 4). Fashioned in both sides of the plate are V-shaped, parallel grooves (5, 6) having a 90` or approximately 90` angle of opening with the apex projecting all the way or almost all the way to the inner surface of the foil on the opposite side. Each rib (21, 22, 23) is formed by bending parts of the plate (1) 90` or approximately 90` from the plane of the plate at the V-shaped grooves (5, 6), there being provided for the formation of each rib (21, 22, 23) two upwardly-facing grooves (5) for folding the sides (8, 10) of the rib relative to the bottom (9) of the rib, and two other grooves (6) open toward the other side of the plate for folding the sides (8, 10) of the rib relative to the upper surface (7, 11) of the pallet. |
