PURPOSE:To manufacture a cell of superior creep resistance by forming a cell using the positive electrode impregnated with organic electrolyte, then supplying organic electrolyte containing a gelling agent into the cell and heating the cell in order to cause gelation before or after sealing it. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode 5 is impregnated with organic electrolyte, for example, gamma-butyrolactone containing 1mol/l of lithium borofluoride then a cell is formed with the positive electrode 5, a separator 7 and a negative electrode 4, thereafter, the liquid composed of the organic electrolyte containing polyacrylic alkyl ester, namely a sort of polymer gelling agent is supplied into the cell and electrolyte is gelled by heating the cell before or after sealing it. It is suitable to use the solvent of electrolyte of low viscosity for impregnating the positive electrode. Thereby, the discharge character of the cell is improved together with its creep resistance through the permeation of electrolyte into the positive electrode. |
