The locking system operation is intended to provide high degree of flexibility combined with high security. The number of locks in the system is presettable, and both the locks and their keys store a coded information, changeable only under certain conditions, in order to release a lock when both the lock and key switch. The matching code thus identifies the key. In this manner keys used as master keys can preset a lock for other than normal operation such that during a limited time period a matching key is inserted into a non-matching one, and vice versa. A lock, operated by a matching master key, is so changed that no master key fits this lock. The latter then programs a predetermined key as a new master key. The previously fitting master key may be again reprogrammed for this operation. Thus the use of unauthorised key(s) can be prevented.
|
