<p>The switch has an insulating housing containing a pair of contact blocks, with a pivoted operating lever (27) acting on the movable contact block via a tension spring and a knee lever system (16). One of the knee levers (24) acts on the movable contact block, the other acting on a counter-bearing (22) and having a working face (44) cooperating with a roller (47) of the operating lever (27) in the switching OFF direction. Pref. this roller (47) is at the upper end of the operating lever (27) to which the manual switch handle (6) is attached and it cooperates with the working face (44) of the knee lever (21) to cause the latter to rotate in a clockwise sense about the counter-bearing (22). This allows a higher force to be applied to the contact blocks by the switch handle (6) for separating them if they have welded together. The switch ensures separation of the contacts to break the circuit.</p> |
