Tracked sliding form machine building concrete road deck - travels on levelled auxiliary path set up at road side

A pressure plate is preceded by vibrating elements plunging into heaped concrete, on a sliding formwork surfacing machine, running on continuous tracks, used in constructing a concrete road surface. On one side of the road deck being constructed (12), at least, a levelled auxiliary guideway (14) for the tracked running gear (18) is set up. The surfacing machine (16) is allowed to travel on this, without further levelling. An auxiliary shoulder (14), levelled by wire or laser beam, can be set up, with a narrow shoulder constructor, for erection of the auxiliary guideway. This may be made of lean concrete. There is no need for an additionally widened shoulder, nor for a levelling device for the road- surfacing machine or for the skimmer following it.
