The clamp secures a sheet (5) against a base plate (1) and uses two tilting clamping strips (2,3) along two edges at right angles. One (2) of the strips is lowered against a magnetic strip (4) etc. under the edge of the sheet when rotated about its axis of tilt. At the junction between the two strips is a corner fitting, retained by a spring clip. This fitting has projecting lugs, which fit under the ends of the two strips. In another design, a corner fitting is not used, and one strip (2) has lugs which pass under the end of the adjacent strip (3). Another design has ridges under the strips, forming rocker members on which the strips tilt. Another design can include strips on opposite sides of the base plate which can be raised and lowered by bell-crank levers underneath.
