<p>The switch unit consists of a rectangular-shaped housing (1), made of metal or plastics, having a central rectangular recess (2). A heavy, semi-triangular-shaped mass (5), is pivoted by a small ball-race inside the central recess (2). This heavy mass (5) has a small recess (9) drilled in its underside, into which the end of a spring (10) enters, its pressure against the mass (5) being adjusted by means of a lockable screw (12) entering through the main wall of the housing (1). The top edge (16) of the mass (5) which ends in a point, rests against the underside of a lever arm (17) attached to a micro-switch (18) and is held in this position by the spring pressure. The unit can be mounted horizontally or vertically with the spring (10) facing the direction of travel of the vehicle. When braking occurs, the heavy mass moves against the spring (10) and allows the lever arm (17) to release the operating button (20) on the switch (18), giving immediate indication and warning.</p> |
