摘要 A method of measuring the surface area of conducting tracks on printed circuit boards enables the true area to be accurately determined including the extra area of rough zones etc. It is applicable to establishing track thickness for quality evaluation during manufacture. The surface area is used in conjunction with the current measured and voltage applied. The measurement board is placed in an electrolyte with a mirror image board. The current between the boards is measured with a constant potential between them. - The measured current is compared with those obtained using boards of known surface area of conducting track under identical conditions. Patterned apertures are placed between the boards and perpendicular to the board surfaces to ensure that the current flows perpendicular to the boards.PS.
