This motorised regulator is for use in controlling the primary supply flow to a heat exchanger which forms part of a district central heating system, supplying a number of houses or flats. A signal from temperature sensors (2,3) is compared with the voltage on the wiper (7) of a potentiometer (5), which is mechanically coupled to the position of the regulator valve. If the d.c. signal from the temp. sensor is significantly different from the voltage on the potentiometer wiper, the output of the comparator operates one of two relays which feed an a.c. supply to the valve drive motor. One relay causes the valve to open and the other to close. When the wiper and detector signals reach equilibrium, the relay de-energises and the motor stops.
|
