Process and device allowing the recuperation of heat, in chimneys and particularly in apartment chimneys. This is achieved by bringing air to be heated, separated only by a wall (5) conducting the heat of the smoke inlet channel, in an anti-parallel direction with this channel to the room to be heated. The process can be carried out by post-assembly in an existing chimney or by a particular construction of elements used when installing such chimneys.
