The organoleptic properties of perfumes or perfumed products, artificial flavours or foodstuffs, feedstuffs, beverages, pharmaceutical preparations or tobacco products are altered by adding thereto a compound having the formula <IMAGE> possessing a single or a double bond in the position indicated by the dotted line and wherein a) symbol R<1> represents a methyl group and R<2> a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, or b) symbol R<1> represents a hydrogen atom and R<2> a methyl group. A process is provided for the preparation of said compounds of formula I, some of which are stated to be novel. |
