PURPOSE:To enable low power consumption of a synthesizer, by applying a power supply only to a voltage controlled oscillator, reference oscillator and control section normally, and operating others intermittently as interruption of power supply. CONSTITUTION:When power is applied, the power supply is operated with a signal from a control section 9 to turn on the power supply for a variable frequency divider 2, a phase comparator 3, a loop filter 4 and a fixed frequency divider 6. Each section is operated and a voltage-controlled oscillator VCO1 produces a specified oscillating frequency. After one hour, a power supply 8 is operated with a signal from the control section 9, and when the power supply for the frequency dividers 2, 6 the comparator 3 and the filter 4 is interrupted, bias voltage for the VCO1 is stored with a bias voltage storage circuit 5 and the preceding oscillation frequency is kept. Only when the frequency variance of the VCO1 exceeds a prescribed range, the power supply for the frequency dividers 2, 6, comparator 3, and filter 4 is connected with a signal from the control section 9, the frequency is synchronized with the reference frequency to keep a prescribed frequency. |
