PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of malfunction of an inflator after release of an air bag module, by a method wherein, when the air bag module is released, by applying a signal voltage from an auxiliary source circuit on a drive gate, the actuating circuit if the inflator can be automatically opened. CONSTITUTION:An air bag module M, mounted to a steering wheel W, is provided with an inflator I, rapidly feeding high pressure gas to an air bag A, and an actuating circuit C, actuating an ignition device 8 by mean of a power fed from a main source circuit Em on the car body side. A deceleration sensing switch S, closed when given decelerations exerted on a car body, and an auxiliary source circuit Es are located in the actuating circuit C. In this case, a drive gate G, closed in an inoperating state, and a control device 15, containing a switch Sw closed during release of the module M, applying a signal voltage on the gate G form the auxiliary source circuit Es, from the steering wheel W, are situated in the actuating circuit C located between the switch S and the ignition device 8. |
