The invention entails a method and apparatus for slaking lime through green lye and is utilized preferably in production of white lye in the sulphate cellulose process. In patent registration number 7804239-7 is shown how through letting the reaction occur during excess pressure, preferably 200-500 kPa, the process can utilize the reaction heat created. The difficulty lies however in feeding the dry lime into a lime slaker with an excess pressure of this amount. The construction becomes much simpler if the lime and the green lye can be mixed before being fed into the lime slaker. This is made difficult by the green lye's temperature, at the lowest 95 degrees C, and the lime's, normally 100 - 150 degrees C. According to the present invention it is now possible to mix green lye with the lime in a mixing container (2) if the mixture is later fed through a suitable pump (7) into the lime slaker (8) so quickly that no reaction worth mentioning has time to occur between the components.<IMAGE> |
