The invention comprises water-insoluble monoazo dyes of the formula wherein A is a C 1 -C 6 alkylene radical; X is H, or C 1 -C 4 alkyl or alkoxy; Y is H, acylamino or C 1 -C 4 alkyl or alkoxy; U is NO 2 , Cr, Cl, Br, C 1 -C 4 alkyl sulphonyl or carbo-(C 1 -C 4 ) alkoxy; and V is H, Cl, Br or NO 2 . They may be obtained by conventional diazotization and coupling procedures. Examples are given for the production of the dyes. They are useful for colouring synthetic textile materials. |
