摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material having favorable dot reproduction properties and high printing quality, by incorporating a specified amide derivative, urea derivative or urethane derivative into an undercoat layer, in a thermal recording material comprising a thermal color forming layer provided on the undercoat layer comprising a pigment and a binder as main constituents. CONSTITUTION:An amide derivative, urea derivative or urethane derivative having a melting point of at least 75 deg.C was used as a heat-fusible substance in an undercoat layer, whereby dot reproduction properties could be enhanced. The amide derivative for use in the undercoat layer is an aromatic or aliphatic monobasic or dibasic acid derivative, preferably one of the compounds of general formulas (I)-(IV). The urea derivative or urethane derivative is represented by one of general formulas (VII)-(X). The amount of the derivative used is preferably 1-20 wt.% based on the amount of a pigment in the undercoat layer. If the amount of the derivative exceeds 20 wt.%, printing sensitivity is lowered.
