PURPOSE:To increase sensitivity forming electrostatic capacity between both sides of anintermediate electrode in a plurality of electrodes and the opposing faces of the electrodes on both sides. CONSTITUTION:The tubular electrodes 1-5 are arranged in a concentric circle pattern. The upper and lower ends of the outermost electrode 1 are held by a conductor 16 which is fixed to an intermediate stage of an insulator 6, which is in turn attached to the lower end of the innermost electrode 5, with a screw 17. The electrodes 1 and 2, and the lowest part 3' of the electrode 3 which faces the electrode 2 constitute the lower end part of a sensing part S, and located at the position adjacent to the bottom of an oil tank T. Since the entire length in the axial length is usually immersed in the oil, the electrostatic capacitance between the electrodes 2 and 1 and the lowest part 3' of the electrode 3 is invariable. Since the electrodes 3-5 are extended upward and downward for a long distance in the tank T, the length in the oil varies with the variation in the surface level of the oil in the tank T. Therefore the electrostatic capacity between both electrodes 4 and 3 and the electrode 5 varies accordingly. |
