This invention relates to an apparatus for dewatering material having a high water content, for example peat, digested sludge etc. Besides vacuum filters, for dewatering such material presses are used which, however, have proved not to meet desired requirements with respect to efficiency and capacity. For solving this problem and, thus, to bring about an efficient dewatering press with high capacity, according to this invention an apparatus is proposed which comprises two endless belts of elastomer material, which between a feed opening for feeding in the material to be dewatered and a discharge?ppening run abutting each other, with the material fed-in between themselves, over common press rolls for pressing the water out of the material, and which belts are provided with water discharge means. |
