1296335 Sheet roll dispensers CWS INTERNATIONAL AG 15 July 1971 [26 Aug 1970] 33174/71 Heading A4G Paper towels may be dispensed from roll 11, Fig.2 or when nearly expended, paper may be dispensed from the old roll at 18 together with paper from a new roll 11 over metering roller 13 which makes between a time delay stop one rotation for the double layer from both rolls and two rotations for a single layer from only roll 11. When roll 11 is near exhaustion, spring flap 47 raises refill sign 48 hinged on pivoted frame 15 carrying sprung nip-roller 14. During a first rotation of roller 13 for a single layer, spring- loaded trip 19, Fig. 4 on the roller rotates and lifts weight loaded pawl 27 on to pin 31 and lifts arm 25 partly towards a position in which timing cups 23, 32 meet. A second rotation allows trip 19 to press the cups together by acting on arm abutment 29 after which the roller 13 is stopped by the trip meeting arm abutment 33. When the timing caps part, arm 25 swings below its portion in Fig. 4 with the left arm of pawl 27 off pin 31. If two rolls are being dispensed, flap 36, 37 rests on roll 18 and turns tappet 35 to shift pawl 34 into a notch preventing arm 25 moving below its position in Fig. 4, whereby roller 13 and trip 19 only make one revolution to press the timing cups together. In place of flap 37, a spring slide may be displaced by the end of roll 18 to press a spring on to the left arm of pawl 27 so that it is not disengaged from pin 36 and arm 25 never drops below the position in Fig. 4. When the timing cups release the arm end abutment 33, trip 19 and roller 13 under spring action rotate and forward a portion of paper for grasping. |
