PURPOSE:To generate high-starting torque without decrease of efficiency and to reduce starting current, by providing a parallel circuit of a resistor and a switch in series with a main coil, and a switching device between an auxiliary coil and a capacitor. CONSTITUTION:A parallel circuit of a resistor 5 and a switch 6 is connected in series with a main coil 1. A reverse switch 9 is connected between an auxiliary coil 2 and a drive capacitor 3. At start, the switch 6 is open and the reverse switch 9 is switched so that the capacitor 3 is open. After start, the switch 6 is closed and the reverse switch 9 is switched so that the auxiliary coil 2 and the capacitor 3 is series during operation. Therefore, phase angle formed by main coil current and auxiliary coil current due to the resistor 5 is made greater and start current is made less. Accordingly, high-starting torque with high efficiency can be obtained. |
