PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal display cell having a fine pattern at low cost by stacking an upper and a lower glass substrate by using a reference positioning mark formed simultaneously with the formation of a transparent electrode pattern. CONSTITUTION:On a glass substrate 1, a reference mark 3 is formed simultaneously with the formation of an electrode pattern 2. The electrode pattern 2 and reference mark 3 are composed of thin films of indium oxide, tin oxide, etc. Then, only the reference mark 3 is treated in the order to defatting, acid washing, activation, electroless nickel plating, peeling, and partial plating is further performed to obtain transparency. Since the plated refrence mark 3 becomes an opaque mirror surface, optical automatic detection and positioning are facilitated. The plated reference mark 3 is used for positioning to stack an upper and a lower glass substrate, which are cut and separated along a cutting-separation line 4 to obtain individual liquid crystal display cells. |
