<p>The plastics or rubber plug is of a thin wall construction and consists of a top cover (1) connected to the top of the inside (5B) of a U-shaped skirt (5). The outside (5A) of the skirt fits into the hole, in the metal sheet, to be plugged and has retaining lugs (3) which snap into the edge of the hole. A sealing flange (4) is attached to the top of the outside of the skirt. The plug is flexible and moulded from a single thickness of material. The thickness of the cover is calculated to be just sufficient to avoid crushing or collapsing. The outer surface of the skirt provides the flexibility for the introduction of the plug into the hole.</p> |
