Gravitational motor using rotating disc and fixed magnet - uses magnet mounted between centre and rim of disc and external magnet to provide extra force required to complete revolution

The motor allows gravitational energy to be directly transformed to rotary mechanical motion. A magnetised rod is mounted on a vertical disc so that one end of the rod is at the disc centre and the other end is at the disc rim. The disc is positioned so the magnet is off the vertical and the magnet falls, rotating the disc about its centre. Inertia carries the magnet past the vertical and as it moves upward the magnet experiences an attractive force from a second magnet placed horizontally above the disc rim. This force is sufficient to rotate the magnet over the vertical. Once over the vertical gravity aids the rotation and additional force is exerted by the repulsive force exerted between the rotating magnet and the like pole of the fixed magnet.
