<p>The rail-mounted stockyard transporter (1) is provided with only one portal (3) at a remote end of the transporter from a tipper car (2). The transporter is connected to the tripper car by a rigid connection (5), the connection being fixedly secured to the portal and adjustably secured at its other end to a vertical support (6) of the tripper car. The distance between the portal and the vertical support is variable so as to increase in proportion to the load applied to the tripper car, which acts as a counterweight for the transporter.</p> |
