<p>N-Substituted 2,2,6,6-tetraalkyl piperidines and their salts or metal complexes stabilized acid-catalyzed acrylic polyester or alkyd stoving lacquers against light, moisture, & O. Thus, a maleic acidcatalyzed acrylic metal-effect coating contg. 1% 1,2,2,6,6,-pentamethyl-4-piperidinol was coated to 30μm on Al, dried, baked 30min at 150≰C, kept 4 wk at 23≰C and 50% relative humidity, and exposed to UV light for 900 hr resulting in 20≰C gloss 66 and wt. loss 6.5g/m2.</p> |
