The upright supports of the shelving comprise a support tube (7) clad with vertical strips (8) clamped onto the tube by detachable fastenings. Each fastening consists of a sprung ring (10) which surrounds the support (1). The sprung rings press the strips (8) against the support tubing (7). Where the support tube is multi-edged the ring (10) is a multi-edge ring whose sides are curved inwards and can now hold all the cladding strips against the tubing at the same time without having to engage into the slots of the tube.
