PURPOSE:To make the determination of the associated quantities of clogging, particles, etc. according to contamination possible with highly pure water by monitoring staining based on the time required for a membrane filter of prescribed construction in filtering a fixed amount of test water. CONSTITUTION:A prescribed amount of pressurised test water from a feed water pressurizing tank 11 via a sequence control section 18 is supplied to a storage tank 15 by way of a membrane filter of the vertical through-hole construction of capturing particles quickly with only the surface of the membrane in an airtight filtering section 12. A counter 19 counting pulses is controlled by a level sensor 17 and the filtration time T0 of a fixed amount of the test water is measured. Further, the similar time Tn is measured after lapse of a prescribed time, and rhe Fouling Index FI by the operation in accordance with the equation I is determined in the arithmetic part 22 of an arithmetic section 21, and is monitored via a comparator 25, or the like. Similarly, particles sizes, and the number of particles are operated in a particle size operating section 23, particle number operating section 24, etc., and the quantities associated to the degrees of contamination such as the rate of clogging, particle sizes, the number of particles, etc. for highly pure water are determined and are monitored. |
