<p>An automatic bottle filling machine includes a monitoring facility for detecting and identifying the location of faulty filling valves. Bottles (62) are fed on a linear conveyor (63) to a point where they are transferred by a rotating star wheel (64) onto a rotary table (65). The table has capacity for 60 stations, each associated with a filling valve. After filling bottles are transferred by star wheels (67,68,69) to a linear conveyor. A sensor (71) monitors the filled condition of the bottles and a signal is transmitted to a monitoring circuit (79). A separate sensor (77) monitors the entry of bottles onto the rotary table and a counter (76) totalises a display (83) and indicates the location of any faulty valves resulting in bottles not being completely filled.</p> |
