The closure (2) is intended for a rigid container, e.g a bottle, and comprises a dropping tube (10) with resiliently compressible portion (16) allowing drop-wise dispensing via a nozzle end (14). The tube portion (16) is contained in an extension of a screw (8) cap (6) fitting on the bottle. The extension has a resilient portion (20) via which the compressible tube portion can be squeezed. The resilient portion may have inward projections (22) engaging the compressible portion when compressed. The tube may be integral with the cap or may be a push fit in it.
