Title compds.(I; R = C1-4 alkoxy, phenyl, C1-4 normal or side chain alkyl; R1 = C1-6 normal or side chain alkyl; R2 = C1-4 normal or side chain alkyl) were prepd. by diazotization of amine(II) followed by coupling with compds.(III). The compd.(I) is blue colour dyestuff useful for polyester and cellulose acetate fiber. Thus, the mixt. of m-acetamidoaniline 30.0 g, 2-(2-ethoxyethoxy)-ethanol 250 ml and Raney nickel 25.0 g was reacted at 175≦̸C under the 200 psi N2 atm. for 12 hr and then Raney nickel was eliminated. The intermediate was reacted with CaCO3 27.6 g and iodoethane 46.8 g at 120≦̸C for 3 hr to give coupler.
