In order to be able to compare two RF signals with an integral frequency ratio without using a frequency multiplier in a phase detector, one solution consists in the fact that there are two branching circuits (16) which divide the respective input signal (f1, f2) in each case into two components with half power and a phase difference of 90 DEG . In each case two of these components of different phase and from different branching circuits are combined in a power adder (17, 18). At the outputs of the latter, diodes (2, 3) and RF short circuits (C1, C2) and an RF choke (19) with centre tap are connected. Between this centre tap (A) and the tap (B) of a potentiometer (6) blocked by RF chokes (4, 5), a direct voltage can be picked up if there is a phase difference between the input signals (f1, f2). <IMAGE>
