<p>PURPOSE:To enable the economic mass-production of the titled cap, by dipping a part of a ring-shaped metal plate for sealing in molten glass solder, revolving the ring to coat the ring with the glass solder in uniform thickness, heating and melting the solder, and bonding the ring to the cap base with a press. CONSTITUTION:The liquid chamber 54 of a melting oven contains glass solder 15, which is molten by the electric current between the electrodes 52 and 52. A part of the circumference of a ring-shaped metal plate 14 for sealing is dipped in the molten glass solder 15, and revolved to the direction of the arrow. The surface of the metal plate 14 is coated with the glass solder layer 15 of uniform thickness by this procedure. The metal plate 14 is pulled up from the molten bath, and the glass solder 15 is solidified to obtain the bonding member 13. The bonding member 13 is placed closely on the cap base 10 placed on the die 62 in the heating furnace 60, and pressed by lowering the punch 63 coated with a releasing agent 64 at the pressing face. The softened glass solder 15 is spread uniformly between the cap base 10 and the sealing metal plate 14 to effect the hermetic sealing and obtain a glass-sealed cap for the vacuum-type solar energy collector.</p> |
