Current converter load switching system - holds constant output voltage and switches each phase at zero transition point

The current converter can be switched between two inductive loads, the corresp. phases of the current converter output voltage being switched over at their zero transition points. The output voltage of the current converter is held constant for a given interval during load switching via the current regulator for the current converter. Pref. the respective switching devices for the regulator output phases are coupled to a control logic incorporating zero transition detectors and in turn coupled to a circuit supplying a control signal for the current regulator to maintain the constant output voltage. The load switching system prevents an increase in the output voltage and an accompanying load current peak.
