Vehicle reduced speed warning device - uses additional brake lamps with intermittent function and considerable after-glow effect

The warning of following vehicles about the leading vehicle speed reduction uses light-up of additional lamps, associated with the brake lamps, in case of extremely high speed reduction. The additional lamps are pref. trafficators, or any other extra lamps with high luminous output. Even the additional lamps may be operated intermittently, in order to increase the warning effect. These additional lamps may be kept on even after the braking has ceased, in order to warn vehicles further down the traffic lane about the reduction of normal speed. For the operation of the lamps is used a switch responsive to increased braking force or high speed reduction. This switch actuates the blinking relay or a time switch for the required period after braking has ceased. The function of the warning system is indicated by a control lamp on the dashboard, where also an overriding switch may be mounted.
