Method and apparatus for polishing a sample of a solid, particularly of a metallographic sample. The sample is placed with one face (1a) in contact with a flexible abrasive medium (5a) which is moving relative to the said sample, this relative movement being principally a unidirectional translatory movement, by means of which, after polishing, an acute-angled edge is obtained on the side of the periphery of the contact face which is oriented in the opposite direction to the movement of the sample relative to the abrasive wall. <IMAGE> |
