PURPOSE:To perform a compression test for a brittle test material by a method wherein the strain rate is arbitrarily changed by means of a speed changer and said strain rate is made low. CONSTITUTION:The output of a motor 9 is transmitted to a loading tool 2 via a speed changer 8, a speed reducer 7, a gear train 6, a gear 5, a female screw 4 and a male screw member 3, and load is applied to a test material by use of a loading tool 2 and a loading tool 1. A displacemnt of the test material A is detected by means of a displacement meter 20 mounted on the male screw member 3 and inputted to a controller 15. The controller 15 controls the speed changer 8 such that the strain rate or the pressure application rate is a low rate of an order of (10-30)X 10<-6>sec<-1> or 0.2-0.6mm./min. Further, the inclination a stress-strain curve is detected using the load and the displacement, thereby the strain rate can be changed arbitrarily. |
