Pins (6) mounted in the flanged end (3) of output shaft (4) carry on their ends (9) bearings whose outer cages (7) locate in an end plate (11) and protrude from it. A similar arrangement exists at the end of the input shaft. When the two assemblies are brought together with the two end plates (10, 11) in contact, the protruding portions of one pair of bearing cages locate in corresponding holes in the end plate (10) of the opposite assembly and vice versa. This creates a torque transfer path.
