<p>Mixture of about 4 pts. mineral oil, pref. admixed with 10% fatty acids, and 1 pt. emulsifier, partic. soap, is used in 2-20% concn. as an additive to radiator cooling fluids for water cooled i.c. engines of motor vehicles, in order to prevent or reduce corrosion of all parts wetted by cooling fluid, but esp. the water pump. Additives prevent (1) corrosion and (2) deposition of dirt etc. which often affect mobility of slide bars.</p> |
