Ammonia collection and absorption apparatus including gas collection means for collecting ammonia-laden air at the exit opening of a diazo reproduction machine and passing the ammonia-laden air through ammonia gas absorption means to remove ammonia gas from the air. The ammonia gas absorption means includes a selectively removable and replaceable cartridge containing a volume of phenolic foam divided into pieces and carrying sulfuric acid or phosphoric acid through which the ammonia-laden air is passed.
