PURPOSE:The titled composition that contains a negatively swelling material of ceramic composed of Li2O, Al2O3 and SiO2 at a specific ratio and a specific inorganic binder in a specific proportion, thus having a negative or extremely low positive expansion coefficient and showing gas-tight properties. CONSTITUTION:(A) 10-45pts.wt. of a negatively swelling material of LiO2. Al2O3.SiO2 ceramic of the formula (x is 0.5-1.5, y is 1.0-2.0, 0.5<=y<=2.0) and (B) 55-90pts. of an inorganic binder of 800-1,000 deg.C softening point, preferably aluminosilicate glass or pyrex glass of 30X10<-7>-60X10<-7> expansion coefficient are mixed to give the objective composition.
