PURPOSE:To switch the speed of printing by detecting a boundary between the rough and dense portions of dot arrangement from print information received or signals sent out to a print wire driving magnet after being converted into dot image pattern by a character generator. CONSTITUTION:When receiving print information for one line from outside, it is once put in a dot density boundary detection circuit to detect the boundary of dot density and then the dot density so detected is stored in a speed variable address register 27. At the time of printing, the density boundary is read out from the speed variable address registor, and when dot continuous region is entered, the speed of space is reduced. Also, when the dot continuous region is off, the speed of space is accelerated. |
