PURPOSE:To smoothly rotate a nut which elevates a screw shaft in spite of the case when a heavy sample is placed by applying upward load to the bottom end part of the screw shaft provided with a sample stage. CONSTITUTION:A guide cylinder 2 is fixed in a perpendicular direction in the lower part of a hardness meter body 1, and a screw shaft 3 is inserted into this guide cylinder 2. A sample stage 4 is mounted to the top end thereof. A nut 5 for elevating the screw shaft 3 is screwed to the shaft 3 in such a way as to be placed on the top end flange part of the cylinder 2. The nut 5 is provided with a gear 5a in one piece to its circumferential edge part, and a pinion 6 meshed with this is rotated and driven by a motor via a gear shaft 7. An arm 9 extending to both sides is installed to the bottom end part of the shaft 3, and a weight B is suspended via pulleys 11, 12 to the other end of a wire 10 which is detained at one end to each arm 9. Thereby, the nut 5 smoothly rotates even if a heavy sample 8 is placed on the stage 4, and the elevation of the stage 4 is accomplished without any hindrance. |
